We welcome our new Deacon Lazarus, Axios! We are very blessed to have another deacon to serve the church and look forward to many years with him. We’d also like to thank Deacon Elias for working with and sharing his knowledge of the deacon’s role in the Orthodox Church.
The renovation part of the classrooms will be 95% complete and ready for the start of Sunday School, which begins October 4th. Smart screens have been installed in both classrooms and are ready for use. The classrooms look great, and we pray the teachers will be happy with their new environment.
We’re still waiting for the City of Beaumont to approve the permit for the expansion work to begin. We’ve been told there is just one department that we’re waiting for approval from. Hopefully this will happen in the first full week of October.
As most of you are aware, the air conditioning unit in the hall went out. Repairs were done quickly, and we got the unit back online. We are working with the manufacturer to help with the repairs, since the unit is relatively new. Progress is being made.
The Med Fest 2027 date has been set for Saturday, May 8th, 2027. Easter is Sunday, May 2nd, which leaves us with little option, since we normally use the first weekend in May for the festival.
Please feel free to contact any member of the Parish Council with any questions or concerns.
In Christ.
