Christ is born! Glorify Him!
We had a wonderful celebration of the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Christmas with the Divine Liturgy and the welcoming of new members to St. Michael Orthodox Church. Twenty-eight people were baptized and chrismated into Orthodoxy!
Thank You, Men’s Society
A huge thanks to the Men’s Society for sponsoring and preparing all the food for the St. Michael Day Vespers and celebration on November 8th. It was a nice evening of worship and fellowship.
St. Michael Day Meeting & Elections
On Sunday, November 9th, the annual St. Michael Day meeting was held after Liturgy, where parish organizations presented their reports. Parish Council elections were held, with Will Cross and Kenneth (Bucky) Bean elected to three-year terms. Fr. Michael appointed Natalie Stump and Benjamin McKee to one-year terms.
Facilities Update
You may have noticed that Entergy has moved the power supply to the church and hall area by installing new utility poles and relocating their lines. Once Spectrum and AT&T move their lines, the old poles will be removed. This was an important step in clearing the way for our Phase 3 hall expansion, which we hope to begin shortly after the first of the year.
Mediterranean Festival Planning
Our first Med Fest meeting was held December 3rd at 6:00 PM. The purpose was to get an early start planning activities for the May festival. More details coming soon!
Hall Expansion Fund Drive
We are working toward a January start date for Phase 3 of the hall expansion. Along with that, the Hall Expansion Fund Raising drive will officially kick off. Please participate in this effort to the best of your ability.
