St. Michael Orthodox Church is proud to support two university students through our Educational College Scholarship program.
About the Program
Through this program, active parish members may receive university or trade school support while attending school full-time, maintaining at least a B average, and applying to the Scholarship Committee each semester. The program allows the congregation to maintain contact with students throughout their studies, showing them the church loves them and cares about their future.
Scholarships are funded by the general church budget, individual donations, and art sales—100% of which goes directly to the scholarship fund.
Current Recipients
Calvin Kelly is majoring in education and history at Sam Houston University. Now in his second year of school and in the scholarship program, Calvin expressed his gratitude: “I’m eternally grateful and so blessed to be a recipient of the St. Michael Scholarship Fund. May this gracious organization be granted many years.”
Elias Tarabay has begun his advanced studies at the University of Arkansas, majoring in Civil Engineering.
We pray that both students succeed in their coursework this semester and worship with us when they visit their families.
